Duties and Responsibilities
Our league does not run without the support of our parents and each team consists of a group of volunteers that helps it function: The Manager, Coaches, and Team Parent. All of these positions are essential to keep things with the league moving and give kids the best experience possible. Need resources? Team Manager
Team Managers can be anyone that would like to take on the lead role of the team and is essentially a Head Coach. This person helps us by running the team and being one of the heads under the division manager.
The Team Manager:
- Is in charge of the team as a whole,
- Sets practices and other details for the team,
- Is the main communication source within the team,
- Runs the team meeting,
- Is the team leader,
- Run things on the field (inc players, coaches, scorekeeping, lineups, etc.),
- Is a go between of the team and the league board or directors,
- Connects with the Division Commissioner if any issues arise,
- Teaches kids the fundamentals and basics for team work, field play, etc.,
- Helps promote safety on the field and in the dugouts/bleachers,
- Follows the Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth rules for play,
- Utilizes the SportsEngine Mobile App,
- Provides team standings to the Division Commissioner
- Attends evaluations, meetings, clinics, or other league events
Coaches
Coaches are an essential part to every team. We like to have a few coaches per team to help the Team Manager run things successfully. Coaches have many different responsibilities depending on the division.
The Team Coach(es):
- Assists the Manager on the field with player instruction,
- Runs or designates scorekeeping,
- Teaches kids the fundamentals and basics for team work, field play, etc.,
- Helps promote safety on the field and in the dugouts/bleachers,
- Follows the Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth rules for play,
- Attends evaluations, meetings, clinics, or other league events
Team Parent
A Team Parent is the heart of the team. The main duty of a team parent is to be a liaison for your team and the league’s directors, making sure to communicate as needed. A Team Parent is necessary for each team and will be directed on information that will need to be passed on.
The Team Parent:
- Passes on important information from the league Board to the team,
- Helps promote safety and keep control in the dugout (for T-Ball and Rookie divisions) or bleacher areas (for all divisions),
- Be a communication source within the team,
- Pass out necessary forms and information to the team players’ parents from the league,
- Attend as many practices, games, and league events as possible
