We have been discussing our plans for the season and with the guidance of Cal Ripken and the State, we will be resuming league activities in the coming weeks!

Our plan is to begin everything with our parent meetings the week of May 25th. You will receive a call from your coach with more information and details.

Practices for our players will begin the week of June 1st. We anticipate games to start the week of June 15th in accordance with Stage 4 of the Governor’s 5-stage plan. Our season will run until approximately the first week of August.

We will be holding a clean up day on May 30th and need all the help we can get to make sure our fields are ready. Please come out and give us a hand so our fields look great and are safe for our kids to play on. We’ll be starting at 9am.

Please understand that our families and their safety are our top priorities so more information will be coming out in the next couple weeks regarding being safe at the field. We will continue to follow the guidelines set forth by the town, the state, and Cal Ripken so these plans may change if deemed necessary.

As the COVID-19 situation continues, we’re still monitoring things and want to provide you all with an update. Due to the school extending its closures and based on the recommendations set by the Governor, Babe Ruth, and Cal Ripken Headquarters, we’re still on hold for a bit for the start of our season. We will play, it will just be a little later than we expected.

Please know that we are still working behind the scenes on the upcoming season so when we get the word to proceed, we’ll be ready to go. In the coming weeks, you will be contacted regarding your team and any other initial information you need to be aware of. Please also follow our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

We will continue to put the safety of our kids and our community as a priority and will provide updates as needed. Please continue to do your part to stay safe, stay well, and stop the spread so we can get back to baseball!

The GYB Executive Board

All of us at GYB take the safety of our baseball families very seriously, and after much consideration, we have decided to postpone the start of our season. We are following the guidelines set forth by the various health departments, the state, and our local school system to ensure that we do our part to help keep everyone safe.

We will be closely monitoring the ongoing situation and we will continue to assess things over the next few weeks. As of right now, we anticipate our start date for practices to be when school begins again on April 13th, 2020. If necessary, we will make adjustments as we see fit.

Our major evaluations that were scheduled for this Sunday will be canceled. Major teams will be drafted without these and teams for all divisions will be put together next week with the hopes of starting our regular season games on time.

We love baseball and can’t wait to play, but keeping our families and our community healthy is priority at this time.
